Inviting a member
To add a new member to your organisation, click Invite Member in the portal and enter their phone number. SemaFore sends them an SMS with an invitation link. They will need to open the link and register themselves on their device.
Member statuses
As a member moves through the signup and approval process, their status changes:
- Invited: You have sent an SMS invitation; they have not yet registered.
- Registered: They have accepted the invitation and installed the app, but their device has not yet been approved.
- Active: Their device has been approved and they can send and receive messages.
- Revoked: You have revoked their access. They are immediately disconnected and cannot send or receive messages.
Approving device registration
When a member registers a new device, it appears in the Members list with a status of Registered. Before they can use the platform, you must approve the device registration in the portal.
Device approval is a manual step to ensure that only genuine devices are connected to your organisation. Before approving a registration, verify with the person directly that they initiated it.
Click Approve next to the device in the Members list. The device status changes to Active and the member can immediately start messaging.
Revoking access
Click Revoke next to an active member or device. This immediately disconnects the device and prevents them from sending or receiving messages. The member’s status changes to Revoked. A revoked member can be re-invited later if needed.
Changing roles
Your organisation has two member roles:
- Member: Can send and receive messages, view broadcasts, and join groups.
- Org Admin: Has all member permissions, plus the ability to invite members, approve devices, revoke access, change roles, send broadcasts, manage groups, and view audit logs.
To change a member’s role, click on their name in the Members list and select the new role. Only an organisation administrator can change roles.
The free tier limit
Your free tier allows up to 5 approved members. When you approve a member that would bring the total to 6 or more, the portal displays an upgrade prompt. To add more members, contact hello@attomus.com to discuss a licence with Attomus.
